Hi Friends! Hope your Monday is going alright so far! Or do you have “a case of the Mondays??” 😛 I finally watched Office Space over the weekend. Well, 6 years ago, Chris tried to get me to watch, but I fell asleep – not because I didn’t like it, but because it was midnight and I was tired.
It’s not just Office Space that I hadn’t seen. I pretty much haven’t seen any cult classics, including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Is that weird? Maybe. Anyways, today, I’m sharing 5 weird facts about me. Feel free to chime in with something about yourself!
1) I’m not a picky eater, and love to try new foods, but there are two things I can’t touch.
a) Combinations of sweet and savory. Do I love salty foods? YES. What about sweets? Sure! But combine the two, and I cannot eat it. That means chocolate covered pretzels, sea salt caramel, a lot of BBQ sauces, sweet and sour chicken, spinach and strawberry salads (or any fruit and veggie salad combos) and the list goes on.
b) I also can’t eat meat if it looks at all like the original animal part – so I can’t eat wings or drumsticks. Who knows what’s in a hot dog, but I will occasionally eat them because they don’t look like anything.
2) I have performance anxiety when it comes to typing. Yes, typing! If someone is standing/sitting behind me while I’m on a computer, trying to show me something, or vice versa, I can’t type. If I know someone is watching me, I will literally mess every other word and only type typos. I really don’t understand.
3) I don’t have a driver’s license. I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, where most kids got their learner’s permit at 15. But I lived right by my high school so I could walk to class, and my parents were pretty strict, so they didn’t let me get mine until I was almost 18. Then I rushed to learn to drive the summer before I left for college, and got into an accident. I bruised my ribs, but my mom was hospitalized with more serious injuries. So I spent the rest of the summer at home helping out, and then left for school in Evanston, IL. After graduation, I moved to downtown Chicago, where I haven’t needed a car. So yeah, I’m 30 and I don’t have a license.
4) If I think about something gross, I will sneeze.
5) Apparently, I pronounce the word “draw” like “drawl,” and the word “straw” like “strawl.” As in “I’ll drawl a picture.” Or “I need a strawl for my drink.” Is it because I learned English in Texas (do Texans even do that?) Haha.

Have a great rest of the day!
