Hi Friends! Happy Wednesday! After tonight, my grad class is over, and then no more class for over a month! Yay! I feel like a kid on the brink of summer break.
Speaking of summer – my body is super confused. It was hot (end of summer, almost fall) when we were in Australia. When we got back to Chicago, it was kind of cold still. And now it’s warm most days (today’s 80) with a few more days in the 50s scattered in. Anyways, I’m pulling out all my tricks to keep from getting sick.
Today, I wanted to share some photos of this cute little polka dot off the shoulder dress (here) that I wore when we were on Hamilton Island. As a recap, we flew to Brisbane first to attend our friends’ wedding (part 2), and then 11 of us went to Hamilton Island for 3 nights. This is the house we stayed at!
When we booked the house, we weren’t sure exactly how many people were coming – it’s always hard to organize a big group. Everyone ended up coming though! So we didn’t have enough bedrooms. We drew straws…and I drew the short straw, haha. So Chris and I ended up on one of the sofa beds on the lower floor. The good thing is that it was very roomy – I definitely made use of the space! I hung my clothes up in the kitchen since there wasn’t a closet!
But the downside is that people had to walk through our area to access this deck and the pool (or to go to the kitchen, do laundry, go to their room, leave the house, etc), so there wasn’t much privacy. I instructed everyone to yell “coming through!” but usually that was forgotten, so there were a few times where I screamed “No! I’m changing! Don’t come in!” when I heard footsteps, which caused the other person (one of the guys in the group) to scream as well and turn back. Haha. I would change in the bathroom, but someone was always in there too! Not the mention our area was covered in wall mirrors, so I’d maneuver myself into a corner or hide under a sheet or behind a couch, lol.
Back to this dress – this polka dot dress is very soft and comfy. The elastic band at the top is great too – with many off the shoulder tops and dresses, I have a problem with the top not staying put. Not this one. It’s also only $29!
Check out some other off the shoulder dresses below.
Have a great day!
