Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s November already? (Happy Birthday to my friend Christina!)
Last night, Chris and I went to Jack’s Pumpkin Nights with some of our friends – to be honest, it wasn’t all that exciting, but it was good to catch up with everyone. We ended up at Fort Willow for drinks (water for me…) and some light bites before calling it a night.
This weekend, I’m excited for a few things –
1. Decluttering – My friend Meredith was telling me about her impending move to Australia, and how it really forced her to pare down her belongings. It motivated me to get a start on decluttering, even though we don’t have an official move date yet to the new condo.
Not that I’m a hoarder, but I do have a hard time throwing things out. What if I need them later?? After I read Marie Kondo’s book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up a few years ago, I got rid of a lot of stuff. And then I regretted it later! Even though she promised that I wouldn’t, haha. But I think two things attribute to this. First, Chris and I are in one-bedroom that’s under 800 square feet, so there isn’t a place for everything. Also, I was partially raised by my grandma, who grew up during WWII and was into saving everything and reusing it later in some form or fashion.
Once we move, I’m hoping to find a place for everything. Although, we’re going to accumulate a ton of baby stuff right off the bat…
2. Bone broth – I ordered a few jars from Chicago Bone Broth (not sponsored) to try out. The owner is super nice and threw in a free jar due to a minor delay on their end! I heard bone broth is one of the best things you can consume if you’re pregnant (but also great if you’re not). Not only is it super nutritious for baby, but the collagen helps to prevent stretch marks. I’m not expecting to escape stretch mark free (I’m super prone to them) but the fewer I get the better!
Anyways, I wanted to talk to you guys about this dusty rose/lilac trench coat (here) today. Remember the trench coat from this post? I absolutely love this brand – their coats are reasonable priced and of really good quality. Maybe one day, I’ll invest in a Burberry trench, but until then, it’s fun to have several in different colors and lengths.
This trench coat is a bit longer, and hits past my knees – I’m 5’4″ so it’s great for keeping dry on rainy/windy days. And it’s also on sale right now! And how pretty is the dusty rose/lilac color? I haven’t seen a shade quite like this. The fabric is also way less stiff than that of most trench coats, so the coat is more flow-y and comfy. Check it out before the sale is over!
Have a great weekend!
