Happy Friday Guys!
I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to share our gender reveal on the blog. We actually found out at 10 weeks (with a blood test) but I guess I wanted to wait for the 20 week ultrasound to confirm JUST in case it wasn’t correct. But then we needed pictures to go along with this post…Chris takes a bunch of me for the blog, but we don’t have many of both of us…and now I’m 27 weeks. But I digress!
We are having a….

BOY!!!!!!!!
To be entirely honest, when Chris and I were just talking about having a baby, we kind of pictured ourselves with a little girl first. I think this is because we both have significantly younger sisters (9.5 years apart, and 7 years apart). And of our friends who’ve had kids recently, almost everyone has a girl, including our baby goddaughter. So I guess we’re just more used to baby girls!
I don’t know why/how, but the second I found out I was pregnant, I just KNEW it was a boy. I immediately started referring to the baby (aka Small Bean) as “he.” Chris would try to say he or she. And I was like NOPE! Small Bean is definitely a boy. (Of course, I could have been wrong and then this would be a different story, haha).
Interestingly enough, when I did a poll on Instastories, 1/2 voted that we were having a boy and half voted girl. BUT, a lot of people who voted boy were people I know in person, and already knew we were having a boy. So I guess really, more people guessed girl!
We’re so so so excited for our baby boy! We’re 99% sure on a name and maybe even a middle name! Although I did panic for a minute because when I used to baby-sit my sister, we did a lot of things like read American Girl books and play with dolls. What do I do with a little boy?…in downtown Chicago where we don’t have a yard (not that it’s warm enough to play outside for 1/2 the year anyways). But it’s going to be so fun figuring things out as we go! (And of course, I’m just adhering to gender stereotypes right now).

I’m at the end of the 2nd trimester now, so I owe you guys another recap on that, but it’s really been pretty uneventful. (Minus the gestational diabetes I found out about a couple of weeks ago). 3 more months to go! OR less…
Have a great weekend!
