Hi Friends, Happy Mid-Week! What are you up to?
Tonight, Chris and I are going to a live album taping of a comedy show at Timothy O’Toole’s with some of our friends. We haven’t been there since I lived in Streeterville when we were first dating!
Today, I wanted to share this navy and burgundy striped blazer (here) with you guys. Sorry for the crazy hair pics – it was SUPER windy, and it was all I could do to keep it out of my face and sticking to my lip gloss, gross. (I’m wearing a super clean beauty brand called isoi).
Even though my office is very casual and I can pretty much wear what I want, it’s nice to dress up a little sometimes. This blazer isn’t too formal, but is a cute way to dress up jeans or a simple dress. I also just saw this article about the psychology of wearing navy blue, and why Meghan Markle wears it so much. Apparently, it makes you look more professional and more relatable at the same time! That actually makes a lot of sense to me…it’s a serious color, but not as much as black. Navy and burgundy is also such a great fall color combo – check out my post on my navy and burgundy striped skirt here.
If you’re wondering what the black thing around my waist is, it’s not a tunic length tank top. It’s a “belly band” that I got as part of a 2nd trimester subscription gift bag courtesy of The Stork Bag. Most of my jeans are officially not fitting, so I left this pair unzipped and unbuttoned, and put the band around it. I think there are some extenders that just connect the space between the button/buttonhole, but they wouldn’t work if you’re wearing a short peplum top like I am…it’d be visible. Anyways, I got through the day without my pants falling down or anyone seeing my fly. Success?
Have a great day!
