Hi Friends! Happy Friday! I feel like Friday has become my new mom life blogging day, so I ALWAYS get to start posts with “Happy Friday!” which is kind of fun 🙂 But really, I do want to get more posts up soon.
I have a couple life updates I want to share soon, but this week at home entailed getting some of those things in order. This weekend, we’re putting together some furniture (I feel like I say that every week…things should just come assembled) and going to Lincoln Park Zoo with our friends and their baby boy. Despite having lived in the Chicagoland area for almost 13 years now, I think I’ve only been to the zoo twice, and I’ve never seen the animals there. (One time was during the holidays at nighttime to see their Christmas lights, and once was to take blog photos).
Today, I wanted to share this cute little off the shoulder smocked top dress (here) with you guys. Earlier, I said that because I’m nursing, I might have to take it easy on the dresses this summer…UNLESS they were simple to unbutton/take off. I can’t deal with back zippers right now! Well, this dress definitely fits the bill – the smocked top is elastic so it’s super easy to pull down. But at the same time, it stays snug around your arms. I hate when off the shoulder looks slip and slide around all day and you have to constantly readjust. This is especially a problem for me because I have narrow shoulders that slope down.
The best part is that this dress is $25, and sometimes lower when it’s on sale! Or maybe the best part is that it has functional pockets! You decide. It also comes in navy with a large floral print, but I’m loving it in this pretty sage color – I’d say it’s a pale, muted green. Word of advice – size up one size since it’s technically a junior’s dress.
I’ve paired it with my favorite shoes and bag of the moment, which pretty much will go with everything I wear this summer. Also, these oversized $16 sunglasses! They’re pretty well made though! I’m enjoying owning a few pairs of inexpensive sunglasses that I can leave in different handbags, the stroller, the car, etc.
That’s all for today! See you guys back here next week!
