Hi Guys – It’s Friday! And hopefully the end of Chiberia 2019. Luckily, I got to work from home 3 days this week, so I was able to avoid my commute. (I walk almost 2 miles to work). However, because my office was “closing” (we still needed to work, just from home) and we’re in the middle of re-arranging floors/cubes/seating, I had to take all my stuff home on Tuesday since next week we’ll be starting “communal sitting.” By communal seating, I mean we will no longer have assigned seats. You come into the office, grab your things from your locker, and find a seat (I’m not a fan of the idea so far).
Anyways, I had 5 bags of stuff that I’ve accumulated at my desk! I took a Lyft Pool and it took 2 HOURS for me to get home (Chiberia was starting and traffic was insane). My driver also was sick, and I think I caught it…haven’t been feeling the best the past few days.
It’s been a rough week to be honest. The terrible weather, feeling sick, and on top of all that…no updates on moving. Right now, Chris and I are living in a sea of packed and half packed boxes that we have to try to walk around/climb over. I wish I could get into more details, but unfortunately have been instructed not to talk about it for legal reasons. But basically, we don’t know what’s happening with the condo and when we’re moving. If we’re moving. AHHHHH.
I’ve been having a hard time sleeping since I just lay awake and think about what we’re going to do with the baby coming and so many things up in the air. But I’m hoping to catch up on sleep this weekend and start feeling better. It’s just been so stressful lately! On a positive note, my baby shower is next weekend! But on a less positive note, my sister is coming into town early because she wanted to help me unpack at the new condo and help with the shower. But now I literally have nowhere to put her up. Poor girl is going to have to sleep on top of a box or something.
Anyways, hopefully this wasn’t too much of a bummer to read – but I definitely always want to be transparent about struggles and obstacles as social media tends to present everything as “perfect” and it never actually is!
In order to add some cheer to my week, I’ve been adding some color to my outfits. Even though it’s the dead of winter. Yes, you can absolutely wear pastels for winter weather. Here, I’m wearing a pale green turtleneck sweater, which is currently 40% off! (see here). This sweater also comes in lavender and cream/tan, and would be a great addition for your Midwest St. Patrick’s Day, when it’s inevitably 30 degrees. Or when it’s actually springtime (April) and it’s snowing outside.
I styled this sweater with my new Madewell Transport tote (here). I’ve heard other girls rave about their Madewell totes for years…well that or Everlane, or Cuyana. The decision seems to be split about which one is the best. This one is 50% off though, so I couldn’t pass it up! I figured it would be nice to have a few more big-throw-in-anything bags for when the baby is here too! Do you guys want me to “invest” in the Everlane and Cuyana totes so I can do a comparison/review post? I’m sure Chris would love that! Hahahaha. “I had to for the sake of research!”
Have a great weekend guys! If you’re in Chicago, go outside and enjoy the 30-40 degree weather before it drops again! Here’s to a better week next week!
