Hi Friends, what’s new?
I’m still jetlagged – how long is this supposed to last??! Today, I’m giving a 20 minute presentation on Blockchain technology. Wish me luck! It’s not going to go so well if I’m half asleep.
These shots are from the stunning Hamilton Island, part of the Whitsunday Islands close to the Great Barrier Reef. Most of the island is car-free. To get around, you drive around on electric golf carts.
Every evening we were there, we got on our golf carts (we needed 3 for our group of 11) and drove to One Tree Hill (the area is called that, I’m not talking about the TV show, haha) to watch the sunset or look over the ocean. And to pick up yummy cocktails at the outdoor bar there. Did anyone else watch that show, by the way? I was trying to explain it to my friend who never watched it, so I said “well there’s these half-brothers who are basically the same age, and one’s rich spoiled brat and the other isn’t and they’re both good at basketball…” and she immediately lost interest. I don’t think I did a good job.
Strappy Embroidered Dress
On to this dress – I got a ton of compliments on it (and a confused question, see below)! The straps on the back are really cute too. It’s flowy, and very forgiving for indulgent vacations. I think it’d work as a nice swimsuit coverup as well.
I want to start a list called “funny things boys say about our outfits.” When I was wearing this, Chris said, “is this the same dress as this one?” I said no. He said but they both had cherry prints. Yes, the other had a cherry print, but this one has red flowers. He’s cute though and I’m keeping him forever 😛
This straw bag was my MVP for the trip. I wore it all day while sightseeing (it fit my DSLR, a water bottle, sunscreen, my hat, a bunch of Chris’s stuff that he likes to put in my bag, etc). It looks cutes with a sundress or a casual outfit like a tee and shorts. It also serves as a great beach bag. Also, it’s awesome for travel because it’ll lie completely flat in your suitcase and weighs pretty much nothing. Win win. Oh, and it’s under $50. I love a good investment handbag, but I don’t need to invest in a straw bag, even though it’s all the rage this season. Save where you can!
