Happy Monday Friends! How was your weekend? I relaxed a bunch, like I planned! Also Chris and I had some real estate appointments to attend. We need to try to figure out our moving situation for later this summer (more likely fall).
Anyways, today I wanted to share more about the reason I went to Australia last month! Like I said earlier, our friends Michaela and Byron got married here in Chicago this March. Since Byron’s from Australia and some of his family couldn’t make it, they had a second wedding down under! Of course we couldn’t miss the chance to go and celebrate with our friends again! (Our friends Meredith and Christophe also got married in Chicago, and had a second wedding in Paris). Don’t I have the fanciest friends? 😀
Wedding at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
The wedding at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens took place just outside of Brisbane, Australia (around where the groom grew up). We got to meet his family and his friends from back home who are just the nicest people! Seriously, Chris and I semi-want to live in Australia now!
Michaela asked the girls to wear plain white dresses…I promise I’m not the world’s biggest jerk!
How pretty are our bouquets? They’re from Wilde Flora in Brisbane…Michaela asked for Australia native flowers!
I guess our husbands liked them too and decided to have a little fun with them…hahaha!
I suppose we can take a normal picture as well 🙂
The ceremony was short and sweet, officiated by the Byron’s best childhood friend, and as soon it was over, we broke out the champagne. Naturally.
And we had to go for a dramatic group photo, per our wedding tradition, haha.
We had an amazing dinner and desserts, and proceeded to dance the night away. Per Aussie tradition, most of the guys also dropped their pants to dance around in a circle when “Eagle Rock” played. I won’t share any pictures of that, lol.
Thank you so much for having us Michaela and Byron (twice!) Can’t wait for Joanna’s wedding which is up next!
Congrats to the lovely couple!
