Happy Monday! How’s your day going so far? I’m feeling a little tired today, but my friend Joanna texted me this morning to say she saw a guy doing something lewd to himself in the park this morning. So I guess she was off to a worse start. Yikes.
We had a fun weekend over here – first I went to prenatal yoga + tea. Unfortunately not many people showed up, so the tea/socializing after class was kind of a bust. But that meant I was able to ask the teacher lots of questions about different safe poses, and pick her brain about introducing multiple languages to babies. (She’s also a speech therapist, and she says to go for it!) We’d like for Small Bean (nickname for our baby) to learn Spanish and Mandarin as well as English.
Side story: I told Chris several times I was going to yoga, and the class was going to be extra long, but apparently he wasn’t really paying attention since he was playing video games when I was telling him. (He said “ok” when I told him!) So when I didn’t come home in time he panicked and went looking for me outside, because he was afraid that I passed out or got hit by a car. To be fair, these are things that have happened or almost happened to me recently. Poor guy. (My phone was on airplane mode in the yoga studio). I felt bad, but also I told him like 3 times where I was going! Does anyone else’s husband/boyfriend play videogames? Apparently anything I say to him goes in one ear and out the other if he’s playing. BOYS.
Our Halloween party on Saturday was really fun! Did you check out my Instastories? Chris and I dressed up as the same person – he was the #nofilter version, and I was the post-filter. He wore a long black wig that was HILARIOUS. We stayed out probably the latest we have since I’ve been pregnant – around 1am!
Anyways, I wanted so share a new purchase with you guys – a raincoat that doesn’t look like one (here). I was at the store browsing, and this pretty shade of green immediately stuck out. It’s almost like hunter green, but more vibrant with a hint of blue. I didn’t even realize that it’s technically a raincoat. The fabric is like trench coat/khaki material, but has been treated to be water-resistant. There’s no residue either! While I love my Barbour coat, the waxy coating does sometimes rub off on my skin and handbags, and attracts lint (see blog post here). Not mention, this one is a fraction of the price!
The raincoat is light-weight and surprisingly wind-resistant and warm. Also, do you see the plaid lining peeking out from my hood? The entire coat is lined in the same fabric. If you live in a milder-weather city, this coat will get you through winter. Chicago…probably not. But I’ll pack it for our Christmas trip to North Carolina!
This coat comes in several colors, and there are several other versions available – I think the difference is the cut. But like this one because it’s more slim fitting, and cinches at the waist (I can loosen it when I have a bigger baby bump!) Or even unbutton the lower buttons – maybe it’ll work this spring as well?
Have a great rest of the day Friends!
