Hi Guys! So I saw on Carrie Bradshaw Lies (have you read her blog?) that Kat sometimes shares her best Amazon purchases. I thought this was a great idea since I LOVE Amazon and do a ton of shopping there. Chris actually tried to cancel our Prime membership recently and I was like WHAT???! NO!!! He did end up canceling the one we had because we realized that I qualify for the student membership which is cheaper! Yay! Don’t take away my Amazon Prime.
Anyways, I thought I’d share my best recent Amazon purchases with you guys today!
Jewelry Cleaner Stick – I keep these on my bathroom counter as well as in my purse to give my engagement ring a quick clean. Sometimes I don’t think it’s dirty, but then after using this, it’s so much sparklier. See here to see my post on cleaning fine jewelry.
Blackhead Vacuum – This is one of those things that I didn’t really expect to work, but it does! I recommend steaming your face for 10 minutes beforehand to open your pores, and then using this to extract blackhead and other blockages. Just be really careful to not stay in one spot for too long, because it will leave red marks.
Reusable Pasties – These have been a lifesaver for summer dresses that show my bra. This pair has lasted me all summer. They’re also good for nighttime dresses or tops with a low front/back/sides.
Chia Seeds – It took months for Chris and I to get through this entire bag. In the evening, I put a few tablespoons of chia seeds in a glass tupperware with almond, coconut, or regular milk, as well as frozen berries. Then I shake the container and leave it in the fridge. In the morning, the seeds will have expanded, and the consistency is like that of oatmeal. I bring it to work to eat cold – it’s really good! See here for more breakfast ideas.
Baby Foot – This is simultaneously incredibly gross and satisfying. Without going into too much detail, you basically put on these plastic booties that have an exfoliating gel in them, and leave them on for around an hour before washing the gel off. Within a week, your feet will start peeling like a snake. I’d recommend doing this at the end of summer when you’re about to transition into boots, to peel away those summer blisters and callouses. Or when you’re in need of a pedicure but don’t have time. Check out this Refinery29 article for more.
Collagen – Adding collagen to your diet can help prevent aging skin, ease joint pain, build muscle/burn fat, reduce cellulite, and help with digestive issues! I like this one because it’s pretty flavorless, so I can add a couple tablespoons to whatever I’m drinking.
Probiotics – I’ve taken some before with zero results. Apparently, it’s because your stomach acid can kill the probiotics before they reach your digestive tract. These “pearls” are triple-coated to survive your stomach, and easy to swallow (they’re tiny!) I definitely feel better when I take them.
Electric Wine Opener – This is a great gift idea. We have one at home, and I’ve gotten one for Chris’s parents. After my sister turned 21 this summer, I sent her one as well. It makes opening a bottle of wine as easy as pushing a button.
Travel-Sized Steamer – This is so much easier to use than an iron! I brought my old one to Australia, and didn’t realize that I needed an adapter, not just a converter. So that was the end of that one. But I’ve repurchased it! It’s small and compact, but good enough for day to day use.
Argan Oil – If you get argan oil at Sephora, it’s SO expensive for a tiny bottle. You can get a much bigger bottle on Amazon for only a fraction of the price! I put this directly on my skin/ends of hair (0r mix it in my moisturizer).
Juice Organics Shampoo – I LOVE this shampoo and conditioner. It has very clean ingredients (definitely no parabens and sulfates), works well, and isn’t expensive. I’m was using the repairing or smoothing combos before, but after I got balayage, I switched to the one for color treated hair.
Gold Tungsten Ring – Have you guys heard of Tungsten? It’s a very hard gray metal that is sometimes used to make mens’ wedding bands. But they can be coated to look gold or rose gold…and the color doesn’t rub off or fade! They’re really cheap, but durable – they don’t scratch at all. I bought some gold and rose gold bands to create right hand stacks. These rings would also be a great choice for a travel wedding band (if you don’t want to bring your expensive or sentimental jewelry with you).
