Happy Friday! My favorite day of the work week!
Tonight we’re going to get burgers for dinner, and then watching a movie at home. Tomorrow, I’m waking up bright and early to watch the Royal Wedding coverage. Meghan Markle is a fellow graduate of Northwestern University, so I’m convinced that we’re friends 🙂 Also, I LOVED The Crown…I binged watched it on my flight to Europe last winter.
Also, my sister is flying back from Italy after studying abroad there since January. She’s going straight back to NYC, where she goes to NYU, so it’s not like I’m going to see her in person, but it’ll be nice to be on the same time zone again! Makes FaceTiming a lot easier.
An All-Occasions Dress
Today, I wanted to share with you guys my pick for a works-for-multiple-occasions dress – this navy dress with a pop of color (here).
I’ve already worn this to work with a blazer. Also, you could wear this to any daytime event (brunch, baby shower, church, meet the parents, etc.) It’s young and fun, but at the same time, the navy color keeps it slightly more conservative. (It’s great for those events where family will be there – where you don’t want to wear anything too short or too low cut, but also don’t want to dress like a grandma).
And speaking of the Royal Wedding, wouldn’t this dress be cute with a yellow/coral fascinator or hat?
If you’re not into navy, this dress also comes in white, with pale/medium blue stripes at the neckline and hem.
My shoes from Old Navy are from last year, but I’ve linked to some similar ankle strap heels. I have to say, Old Navy’s shoe collection for this spring is pretty cute! I especially like these gingham slides and these pom pom sandals. Don’t get me wrong, I like a nice pair of shoes, but I’d rather spend less on them (since they get ruined more easily, especially in Chicago with the weather and the walking) and save for more handbags, like my Givenchy Antigona.
What would you rather save vs. splurge on?
Have a great weekend! See you back here on Monday!
